Copperhill is a town located in Polk County, Tennessee in the southeastern United States. It is situated at the junction of the Ocoee and Toccoa rivers, near the state line with Georgia.

The town was founded as McCaysville in 1886 after a mining boom brought people to the area. It was later renamed Copperhill due to the large amounts of copper deposits found in the nearby mountains. The town quickly grew as a hub for copper mining and processing, with two major mines in operation until their closure in the 1980s.

Today, Copperhill is a small but tight-knit community with a population of just over 300 people. The town's economy is mainly driven by tourism, with many visitors coming to explore the rich history and natural beauty of the area. Outdoor activities such as hiking, fishing, and whitewater rafting are popular among tourists and locals alike.

One of the main attractions in Copperhill is the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway, a heritage railroad that takes passengers on a 26-mile round trip through the beautiful mountain scenery. The train also passes through the town of McCaysville, Georgia, giving visitors a glimpse of both states during their ride.

Another popular destination is the Ocoee Whitewater Center, a venue built for the whitewater events during the 1996 Summer Olympics in nearby Atlanta. It now serves as a recreational area for kayaking, rafting, and hiking.

Copperhill has a rich cultural heritage, with many residents tracing their roots back to the early settlers of the town. The annual "Copperhill Country Days" festival celebrates this history with traditional crafts, music, and food. The town also hosts an annual Christmas parade that brings the community together to celebrate the holiday season.

Copperhill, TN may be a small town, but it has a big heart and plenty to offer for visitors looking to experience the beauty and history of the southeastern United States. From outdoor adventures to cultural events, this charming town has something for everyone to enjoy. So if you're planning your next vacation or looking for a weekend getaway, make sure to add Copperhill to your list of must-visit destinations. You won't be disappointed!
